Our daily cruises start from our base at Gouvia Marina (above) close to Corfu Town. We provide a skipper, fuel, snacks and soft drinks, as well as a drink to welcome you aboard. The route and destination is entirely up to you, but we do offer the following suggestions.
Paxos and Anti-Paxos. Distance: 34 miles. Time: two hours.
Departing from Gouvia Marina in the morning, you will first enjoy the spectacular view of Corfu Town and its two fortresses, followed by Mon Repos Palace (the birthplace of the Duke of Edinburgh) and the much photographed Mouse Island (Pontikonisi).
We then cruise along the south-east coast of Corfu before crossing the strait to Paxos. Weather permitting, we visit the caves on the west coast before motoring to Anti-Paxos to swim in its turquoise waters. Later we call in for lunch at one of the many waterside fish tavernas in Gaios (Paxos' main port) or the charming little harbour at Loggos, before cruising back to Corfu in the afternoon.
Sivota. Distance: 22 miles. Time: one hour.
The scenic little port of Sivota nestles under a steep hillside covered in olive trees
and is located on the mainland coast of Greece, opposite the southern tip of Corfu. There are three small adjacent islands with many bays and caves that offer a wonderful place to swim and relax. We lunch in one of the many tavernas in the main port.
Othoni and Mathraki. Distance: 23 miles. Time: one and a half hours.
These are two of the Diapontian Islands off the north coast of Corfu and are completely undeveloped. They boast clean sparkling water and sandy beaches. There are a few tavernas offering fresh fish and Greek specialties. We cruise along the north-east coast of Corfu past the villages of Nisaki, Kalami, Kouloura, and San Stefanos before anchoring at Othoni or Mathraki. On the way back we pass the remarkable sandstone cliffs of Cape Drastis and the famous Canal D´Amour with stops along the way for swimming.
Parga. Distance: 35 miles. Time: two hours.
Parga is a picturesque town in the province of Epirus on the mainland opposite Corfu. It sits between lush green hills and the clear waters of the Ionian Sea. You'll find lively streets, narrow shop-lined passages and cafés lining its promenade. It often feels more like being on an island than on the Greek mainland. A short walk through the steep streets takes you to the Venetian castle, revealing a bird's eye view of the town's rooftops. During this cruise we stop to swim in secluded bays and later lunch at a seafront restaurant.
Sayada. Distance: 14 miles. Time: 35 minutes.
Situated on the Albanian border and completely untouched by tourism - there are just two or three tavernas offering a limited variety of food but plenty of locally caught prawns and fresh fish at very reasonable prices.
Boukari. Distance: 10 miles. Time: 30 minutes.
On our way to Boukari - located on the south-east coast of Corfu - we motor past the Corfu's twin fortresses, the former royal palace of Mon Repos, and Mouse Island. Further along the coast is Achillion Palace, the summer residence of Sissi (Empress Elizabeth of Austria) and later Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany. You can see the steps that lead to the Palace from The Kaiser's Bridge where he used to moor his motor yacht. We make a swimming stop before lunching at a secluded restaurant in Boukari serving fresh fish and other Greek specialties.
